PENTATOP UNIVERSAL is a multifunctional weather-resistant urethane alkyd enamel. Areas of application: 1) Painting steel surfaces outdoors and indoors. Thanks to the corrosion inhibitors included in the composition, it reliably protects metal surfaces. It is permitted to apply directly on steel surfaces or on surfaces previously primed with alkyd primers manufactured by RILAK. 2) Painting of wooden and concrete floors indoors. It is also permitted to be used for painting wooden floors (boards laid on balconies, terraces, attics, etc.) that are used outdoors, provided that the surface is not exposed to constant static water. Prolonged exposure to static water (for example, when water accumulates on the painted wood surface, forming long-drying puddles) can cause it to enter the wood through defects (or damage) in the painted surface. This will lead to swelling of the wood, which in turn can cause the coating to crack. PENTATOP UNIVERSAL enamel is not permitted for painting outdoor concrete floors. Preparing the enamel for use: Base A can be used in white or tinted in light shades; Base C can be tinted in dark tones.
Before use, stir PENTATOP UNIVERSAL thoroughly and, if necessary, dilute with white spirit or VAITSOL solvent to a working viscosity: 0–10% by volume. Surface preparation: Dirt and corrosion products (rust) must be removed from the metal surface before applying PENTATOP UNIVERSAL. If complete cleaning of the corrosion products is not possible, it is necessary to remove at least the loose rust layer and clean the surface as much as possible with abrasives (sandpaper, steel brush, grinding tools, etc.). In this case, it should be noted that the effectiveness of corrosion protection may be slightly reduced. Floors. Remove dirt from painted floor surfaces. When applying PENTATOP UNIVERSAL on previously painted surfaces, do a test painting on a small area with a subsequent test of adhesion between coats. New concrete surfaces may be painted not earlier than after 28 days (after removing lime milk from these surfaces; see separate instructions for preparing concrete surfaces). The absolute moisture content of the concrete must not exceed 4%. It is recommended to prime outdoor wood floors with TEKSTURDEKOR colourless paint for wood protection. Application: Apply PENTATOP UNIVERSAL to clean and dry prepared surfaces with a brush, roller or sprayer in 1–2 coats when painting primed surfaces or in 2–3 coats when painting non-primed metal surfaces. When painting floors, apply enamel in 2 coats with a brush or roller. The air and surface temperature must not be below +5 °C. Air relative humidity must not be higher than 85%. Enamel consumption is 9–11 m²/l per coat. Drying time at 20±2 °C is not more than 16 hours.
